Playing around with GingerScraps kits

This first kit is called "Bear A Trooper" and it is adorable.  I've never jumped out of a plane, and the only paratrooper I know retired years ago, so I don't have any photos like that. Then I remembered one of my favorite Contemporary Christian songs by Nicole Nordeman, "What If?" There is a passage that goes:

What if you jump?
And just close your eyes?
What if the arms that catch you, catch you by surprise?
What if He's more than enough?

What if it's love?

It's a song about giving your life to Christ. So I thought, what about a layout of my daughter's baptism?

My niece is learning to fly planes.  She sent me some photos and I made this layout.

With all the lovely bears in this kit, I took it in another direction and made this one about camping.  The background is the kit's brown paper, with one of my photos laid on top and then I turned down the opaqueness and got this:

Bear-A-Trooper can be found on Ginger's Scraps N Pixels
The next three are from a kit called "Fishin'" and it can be found on Ginger's blog at

Followed a Blog Train, Wound up on a Creative Team!

I was following a blog train on Scraps N Pieces called "Father and Son."  I got to a blog called, "Ginger's Scraps & Pixels" and fell in love with her stuff.  Wrote to her and one thing led to another and now I'm on her Creative Team.  How cool is that?!!!

She has a new kit that she's releasing a little bit at a time on her blog: http://www.gingersscrapsnpixels.blogspot.com/
and here are some layouts I made with it.

Rainbow Bridge

My sweet 17 year old puppy passed away in his sleep a few days ago.  I miss him a lot.  I read the poem about the rainbow bridge and decided to make a layout for my sweet boy, Scuffy.

I found a free clipart online of the beautiful bridge and used the rainbow, the rays of light and flowers from a ton of different kits. Kinda nice to think of him running through the garden waiting for me to join him.

You might recognize the next three layouts.  I really liked them so much, I decided to try them with other photos.  Not really sure how I'm going to put them in the scrapbook.  Maybe the same layouts side-by-side with the different photos.  But it was really fun to create some quick pages.

CatDesignz had some of her older kits on sale, so I started playing around and this is what I came up with. These are using English Garden, which is on:

This one is using a kit called "Spring."
